AEO Toolkit

Get cited by ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. One small fix at a time.

AI answers don’t pick brands by luck. They pick the sites that pass 44 small checks, publish the right files, and earn the right links. The toolkit finds each one, fixes it, and shows you when the engines start naming you.

From a URL to a brand AI names

An AEO lab for
your marketing team.

Search moved into the answer. You don’t need an agency to see where you stand: audit the site, ship the fixes, and measure whether the engines start naming you.

01 /Crawl and score

Find why AI answers skip you.

Crawl up to 50 pages and score them against 44 technical SEO and AEO rules. Every failing check comes back ranked, with the page it failed on and the fix that clears it.

Explore audit

02 /Make pages citable

Turn findings into pages engines can cite.

Generate the files and markup answer engines read first. llms.txt from your own sitemap, schema that validates, and content fixes in the order that moves the score.

Explore fix

03 /Measure citations

See who AI recommends, and whether it is you.

Ask the engines the questions your customers ask, and see which brands they name. Then read your own GA4 and Search Console data in plain language, with your own key.

Explore track

04 /Earn authority

Earn the authority citations follow.

Engines cite sources other sources trust. Check any domain’s authority, map who links to you in 3D, and find the pages that should link to you next.

Whether an AI engine can lift a clean answer from the page, and has a reason to cite it.

01 / 13
  1. 01high

FAQ or QA schema is present

FAQPage/QAPage markup feeds answer engines ready-made Q&A pairs.

    The fix

Mark up your FAQ section with FAQPage JSON-LD.

  2. 02high

Content is in the HTML without running JavaScript

Answer engines and most AI crawlers read the HTML they are served and do not execute JavaScript. Content that only appears after hydration is invisible to them.

    The fix

Server-render or pre-render the page so its content is in the initial HTML response.

  3. 03high

    Content uses question-shaped headings

Headings phrased as questions match how users query AI assistants.

    The fix

Add headings like "How does X work?" above their answers.

  4. 04medium

Content is answerable (sufficient depth + lists)

Engines prefer pages with enough text and scannable lists to quote.

    The fix

Aim for 300+ words and use lists for key facts.

  5. 05medium

Article and author schema are present

Article + Person markup attributes content for E-E-A-T and citation.

    The fix

Add Article JSON-LD with an author of type Person.

  6. 06medium

    Organization schema is present

Organization markup builds entity identity that engines trust.

    The fix

Add Organization JSON-LD with name, url, and logo.

  7. 07high

Organization identity is consistent across pages

Every page should describe the same entity. Conflicting @id or url values on Organization nodes split one company into several the engine cannot merge.

    The fix

Give Organization one stable @id (e.g. https://example.com/#organization) and one url, and reuse them verbatim on every page and property.

  8. 08critical

    AI crawlers are not blocked

Blocking GPTBot/ClaudeBot/PerplexityBot removes you from AI answers.

    The fix

Allow key AI user-agents in robots.txt unless you must opt out.

  9. 09medium

llms.txt is present for answer engines

llms.txt is the emerging standard manifest for LLM-friendly content.

    The fix

Generate and publish an llms.txt at your site root.

  10. 10low

    Content has structured, extractable answers

Speakable markup or HowTo/QA structure yields voice/AI-ready answers.

    The fix

Add Speakable or HowTo schema to highlight answer passages.

  11. 11low

    Breadcrumb structured data is present

BreadcrumbList markup clarifies site structure for engines.

    The fix

Add BreadcrumbList JSON-LD reflecting your navigation path.

  12. 12medium

Content is extractable (paragraphs + lists/tables)

Engines extract best from well-formed paragraphs, lists, and tables.

    The fix

Structure content into clear paragraphs, lists, and tables.

  13. 13medium

    Content declares a modification date

A parseable dateModified gives engines a reason to cite the page over undated competitors.

    The fix

Add dateModified (or datePublished) in ISO 8601 to your Article/WebPage JSON-LD.

Questions, answered

What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?

Answer Engine Optimization is the practice of structuring your site so AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews) can find, trust, and cite your content. Unlike classic SEO, which optimizes for blue-link rankings, AEO optimizes for being quoted directly inside AI-generated answers.

How is AEO different from SEO?

SEO aims to rank a page in search results; AEO aims to get your content cited inside an AI answer. AEO leans more on machine-readable structure (JSON-LD, llms.txt), demonstrable E-E-A-T, and short, extractable answers that a model can lift verbatim. Strong SEO still helps, but it is not sufficient on its own.

Does llms.txt actually help AI visibility?

llms.txt is an emerging convention that gives AI crawlers a curated map of your most important pages, much like a sitemap tailored for LLMs. It helps answer engines discover and prioritize your best content. The AEO Toolkit generates a structured llms.txt (and optional llms-full.txt) from your sitemap automatically.

What is a good E-E-A-T score?

E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trust. There is no single official number, but higher is better across all four pillars. The E-E-A-T Scanner scores each pillar page by page and shows the exact signals, author bylines, citations, credentials, and trust markers, that each page is missing.
